I have always wanted to start a site. I wanted to talk about my life but I contemplated. Then I met Jay. Then I wanted to start a site for us. But I procrastinated. More than two years later, this is what I have now, a humble beginning. Just like any couples, we have been through many good and hard times together and this is one reason what this site is for: to put down our story in writing. So that this blog will witness our existence and hopefully we can flip through the archives one day and laugh at the silly things we did and be touched by Jay's heroic deed. Hi, I am Kay, we are boyfriends and this is the our story.
I'm Kay
Male. Smart and sentimental. 26yo. Enjoys movies (and porn) and reality shows. Sleeper. Uptight. Likes Robbie Williams. Has been to Singapore. Ogles at men. Just wants to be happy. Prefers to wear boxers. Selfless.
I'm Jay
Male. Sexy and studly. 29yo. Loves sushi and everything meat. Swimmer. Forgetful. Likes House music. Travels world over. Ogles at Kay. Want to be rich but not necessary famous. Likes not to wear underwear. Selfish.
Jay wanted to watch The Fog. I did an online booking for the movie. We went to the cinema to collect the reserved tickets 30 minutes before the show started. I queued up while Jay wandered around looking at the movie posters displayed along the corridor. Then my turn came and I went up to the counter and being greeted by a cheerful lady.
'Your reservation number please?'
I immediately took out the small piece of paper which I had scribbled the 6 digits number that afternoon and showed it to her.
'Okay, two tickets for two for The Fog?'
I confirmed the tickets and asked for good seats.
She punched some keys on her keyboard and out popped a screen showing blocks of small squares, inidcating the rows of seats in the movie hall, with status either taken or empty.
'Do you want here? Or here? Maybe here?'
I chose two seats in the middle of the middle row. Perfect.
We went in just 5 minutes before the show started. I decided to get some hotdogs for Jay as he showed signs of hunger. I wanted Jay to go in first so I tore the ticket stubs and gave in his part. Then I ran to get the hotdogs.
Less than 10 minutes I went to the cinema hall and found Jay loitering outside.
'Which cinema hall? It's not shown on the tickets'
My ticket says THX Hall. I checked his. The part of the ticket where the hall number is supposed to be printed was blank.
'Sorry, I didn't know about that. Should have checked the tickets just now.'
We rushed in to the hall. THX, wow.
The movie hasn't stated yet but already showing movie previews. I like watching preview and I hate missing them.
I led the way the our seats in Row F Seat 08. Hey, it's taken. In fact the whole row's taken. I took a second check on my ticket and the row of seat. Yes, they are fully taken. Even the rows infront and behind it were full.
I, being a person who dislikes confrontation, decided it's best to ask the usher for help. We went to the nearest usher standing a few feet from the screen.
'We need help looking for our seats.'
I showed him my ticket. F08.
'It's there in the middle.'
So simple for him to say. He pointed his index finger to the somewhere in the audience.
'Come and show me. I think our seats are taken by others.'
He agreed, obligingly, and he found all the seats are taken.
Gosh, the movie was about to start anytime and we were still standing around looking lost.
'So how now?'
I could see Jay getting very impatient and unhappy. I would too, if I wanted to catch a movie and things didn't go smoothly as planned.
'Ok just get any seats anywhere.'
And the usher pushed us to the nearest corner of the cinema hall. We had no choice but to sit down. For reasons I wasn't sure, the spot where we sat seemed hot and stuffy. Not sure if the air-conditioning wasn't strong enough to reach us there or our frustration for not being seated properly... one thing for sure, our body temperature was rising, Jay especially.
The timing was nice. We sat down and the movie started on the spot.
Spooky starting. Smog, skulls and a snake. Dark...ah, Jay would love it.
Then the word HARRY POTTER appeared.
Oh shit. I could feel Jay's frustration. Frustration and dissapointment.
'But I bought tickets for The Fog.'
He took out his ticket and not known to me, it showed 'Harry Potter'. Huh?!?
Apparently, there was something wrong with our ticket stubs. Though printed together, mine showed The Fog, THX Hall, Row F Seat 08. His showed Harry Potter, Unnamed Hall, Row E (seat incomprehensible). In fact our tickets looked like they were reprinted on a printed ticket. Ah, difficult to explain. See photos below.
So this is our first experience. The movie is good after all. Jay and I enjoyed the movie.
Comments:
What a messy ticket. You can ask for a refund, afterall the tickets were misprinted, and that affected your experience for the night.
