Story of Jay and Kay

About Us
I have always wanted to start a site. I wanted to talk about my life but I contemplated. Then I met Jay. Then I wanted to start a site for us. But I procrastinated. More than two years later, this is what I have now, a humble beginning. Just like any couples, we have been through many good and hard times together and this is one reason what this site is for: to put down our story in writing. So that this blog will witness our existence and hopefully we can flip through the archives one day and laugh at the silly things we did and be touched by Jay's heroic deed. Hi, I am Kay, we are boyfriends and this is the our story.

I'm Kay
Male. Smart and sentimental. 26yo. Enjoys movies (and porn) and reality shows. Sleeper. Uptight. Likes Robbie Williams. Has been to Singapore. Ogles at men. Just wants to be happy. Prefers to wear boxers. Selfless.

That Expensive, This Cheap

The one thing that I regret not learning when I was younger is music. I envy those who can play the drum, keyboard, violin, etc. So when Jay said that he would get me something useful, I was correct at my second guess though my initial thought was wrong.

Try guessing? Jay teased me.

I know! Those little fengshui paraphernalia you've always wanted to get me.

Nope.

Ohh...I think I know already.

What? Tell me.

No. I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Spoil the surprise? Funny. I am the one who's giving you the surprise. Now tell me your guess. Even if you guess it right I'll still say wrong.
Jay pestered.

It's a guitar. Am I right?

There was a silence.

See I told ya, my guess is correct!

Maybe. Maybe not. You shall see.

I was confident that it's a guitar he bought me. One can easily see through his eyes and tell if he's lying. Jay's a lousy actor, sorry to say. If he were to give a stern NO instead of a maybe, I'd probably have doubted myself. So he picked me up for dinner and there it was lying at the back seat of his car a guitar in its case, a big ribbon tied to it.

I know nothing about playing a guitar. On the other hand, Jay is pretty good at it and he plucked a few songs for me. I'm not sure if it is just me but seeing him doing that without his shirt on, oh anyone could easily be completely head over heels about him.

That was so cool.

What Jay got in return was a miserable christmas tree. A short, plastic tree without the star nor any ornament. We put the tree up on its 3-legged stand, flexed its stem to some degree so it would look straight. Then I presented what I called the all-important bonus gift to him. And he guessed it right- colourful rice lights! I asked him to sit back while I put the lights on to the tree. Then I passed him the switch to officiate the lighting of the tree. And he pressed the button once. The tree lighted up to the many colours of the small bulbs. Then I asked him to press the button again. And the lights started to blink. Another press, the lights slowly dimmed and brighten up again. All in all 8 different patterns. Not bad for a China made product eh?

Oh yes, it was so mesmerizing we sat there in the dark staring at the christmas tree for 30 minutes.

Thank you Jay, and thank me for the awful yet captivating tree.

a guitar.. that would be the best gift someone can give me.

jakeandtroy - Yes, he's staying till early January!

leo - I bet you can play the guitar. Unlike me, I need to start from the very basic.
