Story of Jay and Kay

About Us
I have always wanted to start a site. I wanted to talk about my life but I contemplated. Then I met Jay. Then I wanted to start a site for us. But I procrastinated. More than two years later, this is what I have now, a humble beginning. Just like any couples, we have been through many good and hard times together and this is one reason what this site is for: to put down our story in writing. So that this blog will witness our existence and hopefully we can flip through the archives one day and laugh at the silly things we did and be touched by Jay's heroic deed. Hi, I am Kay, we are boyfriends and this is the our story.

I'm Kay
Male. Smart and sentimental. 26yo. Enjoys movies (and porn) and reality shows. Sleeper. Uptight. Likes Robbie Williams. Has been to Singapore. Ogles at men. Just wants to be happy. Prefers to wear boxers. Selfless.

I'm Jay
Male. Sexy and studly. 29yo. Loves sushi and everything meat. Swimmer. Forgetful. Likes House music. Travels world over. Ogles at Kay. Want to be rich but not necessary famous. Likes not to wear underwear. Selfish.

Better Than Sex?

Is this far from our ideal workplace environment ?

I've heard about the benefits and how this company takes care its employees' welfare. But to this extend?

Welcome to Google.

Google's HQ, otherwise known as Googleplex, is situated in California in Silicon Valley. Throughout the corridors between the four buildings, there are all sorts of Google memorabilia on display. They even employ guides who specialize in explaining Google's history to people. There are lava lamps everywhere, as well as free coke and candy all over the place. They've also got huge multicoloured exercise balls everywhere.

Employees' workspaces are full of individuality, and the atmosphere is relaxed. There are couches everywhere. People can have a lie down when they need to take a break.

Google's staff loves sports. The big guns often have meetings at the pool table or in the corridors.

The casual atmosphere in Googleplex can be demonstrated by the fact that staff can bring their pets to work, and the pets are allowed to wander around the office. Heaps of people have pets at Googleplex.

There's a rule within Googleplex: that there must be food within 100 feet of every employee.

There was once an engineer who felt a bit ripped off about that rule because his nearest food counter was 120 feet away, so he asked for the error to be corrected, tongue in cheek. The relevant department replied: "There's a restaurant right above your desk, and you're definitely less than 100 feet from that one."

There's free food all over the place, it looks almost like a supermarket.

And chocolates!

This looks more like a toyshop than a workspace.

Rumor has it that a dude who had just joined Google had not been able to find a flat, so he lived at Googleplex for a month. He lived a lot better than Tom Hanks in The Terminal. Meals are provided, couches everywhere, there are showers in the bathrooms, a gym and a swimming pool. There are even pianos in music rooms you could use. Better than the facilities at home! The dude didn't leave Googleplex for a month straight.

Hey, look at those posters behind the guy. Google is a place of equal opportunity. Google embraces diversity.

And it's all fun and games too.

There's also a free laundry room for use for the staff.

Google coming to Kuala Lumpur anytime soon? I can be contacted by email for my CV.

I have this book - The Google Story - and after reading it I was depressed for AGES. Seriously, I'd kill to work for them. Wonder if they want a lazy callcentre worker.

paul - And give up your life as a sexy doctor?

jay - Make that a lazy callcentre worker with sizzling abs. :)
